Summary:

Supports campus wide facilities by maintaining supplies of varied products including food; coordinates incoming and outgoing U.S. and interoffice mail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Maintains food supplies, household items, and office supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders; and verifying receipt of supplies.

Purchases supplies by identifying and qualifying suppliers; verifying prices; estimating food supplies needed; and placing and expediting food orders.

Maintains fresh food by putting away stock in proper storage and rotating stock in storeroom and in freezers to ensure “first in, first out” use of stock.

Responds to requests from supervisors by receiving orders for household supplies, equipment, and office supplies requests; picking and packing requested items from inventory; and arranging for pick-up or delivery of requested supplies.

Contributes to success of organization events, training sessions, and meetings by assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks and assisting in the clean-up after meals and snacks at organization events, training sessions and meetings.

Maintains financial information by documenting cost centers on receipts and submitting them to accounts payable.

Picks up and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail for delivery; maintains postal equipment and related usage records; complies with all U.S. postal regulations in performing mail duties.

Prepares evening meal packs and/or prepares meals for residential programs and assists staff in learning to cook healthy meals as needed.

Cleans agency facilities as assigned to maintain a healthy work environment.

Maintains annual training in food safety.

Participates in quality management with use of checklists (ie: assuring freezers are correct temperature daily)

Assure there is a 90-day supply of food and water on campus and rotate stock per the emergency operations plan.


EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) months to one (1) year of prior experience in inventory control/material handling preferred.
 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


Ability to read, write and apply simple math skills.

Understanding of principles of stock rotation/replenishment.

Ability to maintain safe and hygienic conditions; understanding of food handling safety.

Ability to use postal equipment including electronic scales and postage machines.
