Supervisor - Residential Developmental Services (Bangor)

Summary:
The Development Supervisor maintains ongoing residential effectiveness by ensuring the administrative coordination of a variety of safety, therapeutic and operational issues. Is responsible for administrative activities and oversight of a residential program. Supervises Direct Support Professional staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Demonstrate leadership by coordinating all program components.
• Coordinate with HR and supervisor about hiring, recruitment, and retention of employees.
• Integrate work l by routinely coordinating with outside providers.
• Assume responsibility for homes while at work ensuring crisis intervention, adequate staffing, and effective communication with appropriate administrator.
• Ensure a safe, structured home by ensuring the physical safety and welfare for consumers, including hygiene, clothing, food and medical care.
• Maintain upkeep of physical plant by ensuring the maintenance of a safe, clean and developmentally appropriate living environment.
• Ensure proper staffing levels by participating in the hiring of staff.
• Collaboration with the training team to meet requirements of licensing/certification needs.
• Effectively employ and ensure that appropriate Safety Care procedures are occuring within program.
• Monitor job performance by faciliting one hour a month of individual supervision with each Direct Service Professional.
• Development of staff through on the job coachings and supervisory debriefings.
• Achieve organization financial objectives by providing input into the budget, oveseeing program spending, monitoring staffing hours, and maintaining accurate and timely submission of all receipts/expenses.
• Partner with program coordinators in a positive manner to make decisions about the programs.
• Direct, support, and participate in identifying, removing or reducing the likelihood of common safety concerns.
• Timely completion of required documentation.
• Maintain clear understanding and oversee compliance with licensing regulations and COA standards.
• Work with nursing staff to maintain medical documentation.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
• Internal candidates must have achieved CRMA, DSP, First Aid/CPR, Diabetic Care, and Safety Care Certificates.
• External candidates must obtain the following certifications CRMA, DSP, First Aid/CPR, Diabetic Care, and Safety Care within one (1) month of hire.
• Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE:
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Four years’ experience working in the with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities preferred.
