Director of Training

Summary:

Join Sweetser’s leadership team as the Director of Training.  This position will be responsible for oversight and development of the Training Institute, including design and implementation of training programs, reviewing, evaluating and modifying existing and proposed programs, ongoing assessment of training needs, providing new employee and ongoing training, orientation, internships and external trainings.  Course delivery through various delivery systems to include classroom, e-learning, remote access, etc.


 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee all aspects of employee training and development organization-wide including supervision of the Sweetser Training Institute. 
  • Design, implement and monitor training and development initiatives and programs.
  • Prepare and implement training budget and strategic plans.
  • Develop training programs to deliver a variety of clinical and non-clinical trainings to multiple employee levels across the organization in collaboration with leadership and staff.
  • Use tools and metrics to identify competency gaps and recommend training linked to performance improvement.
  • Collaboratively design key indicators of performance and develop a process for measuring competency against those indicators.
  • Develop training and development plans which match learning curves and are aligned to organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate and develop training through a variety of delivery systems (classroom, e-learning, remote access, etc.).
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the training matrix/schedule.
  • Oversee the onboarding curriculum for all job types and supervise trainers of this material.
  • Ensure the organization is in compliance with state and federal regulatory training requirements and licensing.
  • Develop and maintain learning development web pages and learning resources.
  • Manage aspects of learning and development reporting system; ensure data quality, integrity, and meeting data reporting requirements.
  • Conduct training and orientation programs on a variety of clinical and non-clinical topics.
  • Create brochures, multimedia visual aids, presentations and other training materials.
  • Coordinate the Sweetser Training Institute brochure on a semi-annual basis including content, brochure design, distribution and promotion.
  • Directly teach courses and classes as needed. 
  • Follow Suicide safer care practices.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, Business or related field or at least 6-8 years of training experience.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Maintain a valid state driver's license during employment
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five  years experience training on a variety of subject matters.
  • Experience managing program logistics and developing curriculums.
  • Experience in a leadership role preferred.
