Summary:

Sweetser is looking for an Authorization Coordinator Supervisor.  The candidate would be responsible for overseeing the process of authorization management and the day-to-day function of the authorization coordinators.  Develops, implements, and maintain compliance, policies and procedures regarding managed care documentation processes and tracking systems. Monitors compliance with managed care/ASO and funding source requirement. Works as liaison with service programs to ensure training and education related to authorization and reimbursement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise authorization coordinators to ensure accurate and timely work.
  • Provide and enhance job results through coaching, counseling, employee development, and recognition; and assists with selection, orientation and mentoring of new staff.
  • Ensures adequate staffing and service levels and maintains customer satisfaction by implementing and monitoring staff productivity and other performance indicators.
  • Assures staffing coverage during use of earned time, leaves of absence and short/long term disability.
  • Maintains professional relationships with provider community and provide excellent customer service internally and externally while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and revise as necessary documentation and tracking systems for monitoring compliance with managed care requirements with applicable state and accrediting body regulations and licensing standards.
  • Completes staff quality audit reviews.  Evaluates services provided and outcomes achieved and recommends enhancements/improvements for programs and staff development to ensure consistent cost effectiveness and compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of systems and/or processes related to any new State, funding source, or Federal mandates, recommending updates or changes as appropriate.
  • Identify areas of potential non-compliance and assist in the development, implementation and follow-up on plans of correction as directed.
  • Assist staff with solutions on obtaining timely authorization.
  • Collaborate with Director in reviewing report data, assessing budget performance in areas being monitored and advise corrective actions where needed.
  • Serve as an administrative resource for all staff and provide relief for counterparts in neighboring programs.
  • Conduct job performance reviews as required in conjunction with the director of patient accounts; and provide recommendations for professional development of staff.

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree in business or minimum of five (5) years of related training and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Active driver's license.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
